His eccentricities suggest he is hiding an ulterior motive.
With a troubled family history in the unusual practice of
mesmerism, there is no telling what the foreigner has in
store for his test subjects. Before the experiment Phyno
Zeit individually measures the subjects’ height, weight
and administers a forearm brand. Confederates are
introduced into the experiment and secret scripts and
powders are exchanged. The experiment begins with a
relaxation procedure and warnings. The experimental
variables are revealed under silver domes, along with
instructions.Shortly after ingestion of the variable, a fire
alarm aborts the experiment and the students are forced
to leave the building.
When they think the night has ended, the test
subjects begin to experience disorientation and
unexplained encounters throughout the college
campus. The next day, two of the subjects
completely lose their eyebrow hair and one girl
seeks advice from her professor. The students are
later asked to sign a “release of liability and silence”
in exchange for large cash sum checks of different
amounts, without explanation why. In the final
moments of the film, one of the students learns the
truth behind Leznupar Corporations’s cash pay
off, leaving audiences with a shocking reveal.
